Frenchpoliceon Friday arrested a man suspected of stabbing threewomenin theParismetro as the capital's end-of-year festivities were in full swing, prosecutors told AFP.
The attacks took place at around 4pm on Line 3, where the suspect allegedly stabbed three women at the Rpublique, Arts-et-Mtiers and Opra stations, according to the Paris prosecutors office.
The man was identified using surveillance-camera footage, and officers tracked the geolocation of his mobile phone to locate and arrest him later in the afternoon in the Val dOise region north of Paris.
Prosecutors said they were not immediately able to specify the extent of the victims injuries.
